AWS Startups x JAM: Kiro for Agents

Join us for a hands-on, half-day workshop where you'll build and deploy AI-powered agents using AWS's latest developer tools — from idea to production in a single afternoon.

What you'll learn:

In this workshop, you'll use Kiro — AWS's agentic IDE — to develop intelligent agents and deploy them to Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. Through guided, scenario-based exercises, you'll experience the full development lifecycle: understanding unfamiliar codebases, fixing critical bugs, building new features, and creating conversational AI agents — all with AI-assisted development.

What to expect:

• Introduction — High-level overview of Kiro and Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, and how they work together to accelerate agent development.
• Setup & Access — Get hands-on with sandbox environments and all the tools you need to follow along.
• Use Case 1: Kopi Run — A fun, fast-paced warm-up. You'll take over an office group-ordering app with a critical bug, generate steering files, squash the bug, add a new feature, and build a conversational ordering agent.
• Use Case 2: Tally — A business-focused scenario. Fix a billing platform's invoicing bug, build a transparency feature, and deploy an AI agent that handles customer billing queries with policy-based guardrails.
• Use Case 3: Intake — Tackle a document-processing app with a misread invoice, add confidence-based flagging, and build a finance Q&A agent — then deploy it to AgentCore.

Technical founders, CTOs, and lead engineers at startups who want to accelerate their team's development velocity with AI-assisted tooling and deploy intelligent agents on AWS infrastructure.

Prerequisites:

• Basic familiarity with a code editor and version control (Git)
• A laptop with a modern browser (sandbox access will be provided)
• No prior experience with Kiro or Bedrock required
